Jordan + James
Jordan and James' August wedding at the Squire Tarbox was both intimate and romantic. With a summer wedding in midcoast Maine, you can't go wrong with a lush outdoor ceremony and reception in the historic 1820's barn.

A midsummer wedding in midcoast Maine is bound to be both perfect and romantic. With summer in full swing, Maine is bustling with visitors from all over. Jordan and James chose to rent the Squire Tarbox Inn for 24 of their friends and family to stay onsite and join them for a weekend of wedding celebrations. With nearby vacation rentals and hotels, the other guests stayed in the surrounding area, giving them an opportunity to explore Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, and beyond.

When planning their wedding, Jordan and James made sure to include all the beautiful details beginning with their stationery. The details leading up to their special day set up an expectation that their guests would be well taken care of throughout the weekend. For those staying onsite at the Squire Tarbox Inn, they are welcomed in by our staff as they check-in. The couple chose to put custom welcome bags in each room for their guests as well. They were filled with local treats and necessities to get through a weekend filled with fun activities for them from rehearsal dinner to the wedding celebration.

From there, the guests are able to enjoy one another’s company as they get ready for night one of the wedding weekend! As guests joined for Friday’s rehearsal dinner, they were greeted by the friendly team at The Uproot Pie Co. as they prepared and cooked their homemade pizza right in front of them. Of course our resident chickens were sure to stay close for all the scraps left behind! Guests then gathered around the back deck off of the barn to enjoy beverages and conversation. On the back lawn, corn hole and a fire pit were enjoyed by all.

On the day of the wedding, guests woke up to enjoy locally roasted coffee and breakfast provided by the Squire Tarbox Inn team. Jordan and her wedding party, headed out for the morning to get ready offsite for the big day. James and his groomsmen stayed behind to enjoy the property and get ready together. The coordination team was busy setting up the rentals and details before the ceremony began.

Jordan and James’ wedding ceremony took place on the back lawn with the willow tree as the focus of their backdrop. Guests gathered to find their place at the ceremony, overlooking the pastoral 12-acres the Squire Tarbox Inn has to offer. The intimate ceremony was the perfect way to celebrate Jordan and James’ love for not only one another but those closest to them as well. Once the ceremony was concluded, guests were invited to join cocktail hour on the back deck of the barn with amazing appetizers that include local favorites such as a mini lobster roll provided by Big Tree Hospitality and a bar stocked with local beers.

Most wedding professionals will always tell the couple, make sure you sneak away with your photographer as newlyweds. Jordan and James' photographer, Katelyn Mallett, whisked the couple away to get beautiful shots of them throughout the property. With 12-acres at your finger tips, there's so much to explore and such a variety for pictures without having to leave the grounds. In August you can expect the grounds to be fully lush and green with florals blooming throughout the space. The pond, located directly behind the 1763 inn, is also a great spot to enjoy the peaceful moment.

As the wedding reception neared, Jordan and James joined in on the fun after taking photos. The barn was transformed into a beautiful and organic setting complete with locally grown flowers. Guests were welcomed into the historic barn to find their seats for what would be dinner and dancing. The guests were greeted with the amazing band, Gina and the Red Eye Flight Crew, who were able to set the tone the whole way through and get the party started with ease. Throughout the night the guests enjoyed the experience that was created by Jordan and James from the food to the music, it was a perfect summer wedding night!

Stayed here for a wedding. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the view across the grounds was gorgeous, and the breakfast was delicious! I would happily stay here again! I was a part of a wedding party, and the staff here were extremely helpful with setup, during the wedding, and with break-down after. The grounds were meticulously prepared and we had access to everything we needed.
