Lyndsey + Miles
There’s nothing on earth quite like an autumn wedding in Maine! Between the vibrant fall foliage, impeccable weather, and charming setting at the Squire Tarbox Inn, Lyndsey and Miles’ wedding weekend was one for the history books.

There’s nothing on earth quite like an autumn wedding in Maine! Between the vibrant fall foliage, impeccable weather, and charming setting at the Squire Tarbox Inn, Lyndsey and Miles’ wedding weekend was one for the history books.

Fabulous local vendors and attention to the little details made the creative couple’s nuptials truly unforgettable. The joyful weekend started off with a nautical-themed welcome dinner on the Tarbox’s lush front lawn, complete with an authentic Maine lobster bake for all to enjoy. Adding to the ambiance, tables were decorated with custom-made lobster buoys in the Tarbox’s signature black and white color scheme.

With twelve acres of heritage farmland exclusively theirs to use for the weekend, Lyndsey and Miles chose to host their intimate wedding ceremony in semi-circle on the lawn. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple tied the knot amidst beautiful fall foliage, our lovely weeping willow tree, and tall floral arrangements painted the same color as the exterior of the inn.

After the nuptials, guests gathered on the lawn and back deck for cocktail hour while the couple went off to take pictures. Specialty cocktails played off the autumn theme, perfectly blending the natural setting of the Tarbox with the couple’s relaxed aesthetic.

Following cocktail hour, guests found their seats in our historic 1820s barn for a relaxing evening of dinner and dancing. Specifically designed for the venue, the rustic grey tables in the barn were built from wood saved during a hurricane in Texas. Fresh local flowers, hints of copper, and neutral dinnerware completed the effortless look of this laid back wedding reception.

Of course, no Maine wedding is complete without a delicious and local menu. Lyndsey and Miles invited Uproot Pie Co. to cook piping hot pizza, entertaining guests while feeding them at the same time. (Fun fact: Uproot is a female-run business, just like the Tarbox!) Dessert included delightful fruit pies made here on Westport Island.

Once the reception was complete, guests were able to walk just a few short feet back to the inn to cozy up and enjoy the intimate setting. In the morning, they awoke to locally roasted coffee, homemade breakfast pastries, and eggs cooked to order for a final meal to round out the perfect wedding weekend.
